When Brian Stackhouse used to work on the factory floor of New
Brunswick's Irving Tissue, he helped solve problems in the office. Now
he works in the office as a Technical Superintendent where his experience
helps solve problems on the floor. |

Brian, 36, makes sure all the technical elements in the manufacturing
of facial and bathroom tissue, napkins and paper towel are running
as they should. Communication is a big part of the job. You might
find him at his computer firing off an e-mail to colleagues, or
on the phone, dealing with either a pulp supplier or the company
that packages Irving’s pulp and paper products. He works outside
the Saint John office at least once a month, visiting one mill in
upstate New York, or a second plant that’s 144 kilometres away. |
